Storage Administrator - Contract

Modis IT, a division of the MPS Group is a leading provider of staffing, consulting and solutions in the disciplines of information technology, finance and accounting, law, engineering and healthcare.

We are presently recruiting for a Storage Administrator for our client located in Dearborn Michigan.

Job description

Detailed responsibilities include:

- Integrates new storage solutions (data backup and on-line storage)and services into production.
- Provides consulting to customers who are seeking to obtain more information about storage services and solutions offered by Managed Services.
- Problem Management - develops action plans, corrects root cause of technical problems, and leads escalations.
- Change Management - Provides leadership for Storage Tower, acting as the consultant to Operations for all major technical changes.
- Works with Engineering to develop new technical solutions that are beneficial to the customer and help to reduce costs.
- Is the process owner or technical expert for at least three storage technologies. Serves as a consultant for area of expertise.
- Manages process improvement and cost reduction projects.
- Utilizes TQM methodology to drive increased service levels. Must be able to use metrics to demonstrate quality improvement, or efficiency gains achieved.?


BS/MS in computer science
At least 3 years? track record in consulting/IT management
Technical knowledge of client/server technology, networking systems & solutions, IT security, storage/SAN management, and mission critical/high availability concepts. Must possess expert level knowledge in these technologies:

1. SAN Technologies
a. Brocade / McData
b. XP, EVA, EMC
c. OV SAM, Command View
2. Backup Technologies
a. Veritas NetBackup, Data Protector
b. Large Tape Libraries (DLT, LTO)
3. Information Life Cycle Management (ILM)
4. Project Management
5. UNIX (HP-UX, Solaris, AIX), Windows NT/2000
6. Perl, Ksh, Java
