Storage Area Network Administrator: IMMEDIATE OPENING!!

JOB DESCRIPTION:

In support of the FEMA IT Mt Weather Emergency Operations Center (MWEOC) enterprise operations (EOPS) located in Bluemont, VA (Mt. Weather). Candidate will work with Storage Infrastructure Architect, systems and database administrators to help deploy storage solutions which meet business objectives. Install and configure new and existing storage devices and corresponding software. Administer the backup process as well as monitor the performance, success, or failure of these tasks. Adhere to service level agreements regarding storage allocations, limitations, and availability. Collaborate with Storage Infrastructure Architect and management in capacity planning and future storage requirements. Contribute to, communicate, and enforce data storage policies. Analyze storage equipment performance, collect information, and prepare reports. Monitor and troubleshoot Data Management device status. Respond to and resolve Data Management issues. Adhere to adopted change control, incident response, and testing processes. Assist in the development of these policies. Perform storage audits on a regular basis. Minimal travel may be required between Mt Weather Operations Center and FEMA HQ in Washington, DC and/or regional Anteon facilities.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

? Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work experience.

? At least 5 years work experience in a SAN oriented field with a strong understanding of storage architecture design techniques, theories, principles, and practices.

? Working technical experience with designing, building, installing, configuring, and supporting storage servers, including SAN infrastructure.

? Solid skills in Linux and Windows operating systems; tape silos/disk drives and CA systems; hands-on SAN/NAS/DAS troubleshooting experience.

? Desired experience in developing and submitting storage audits and compliance reports to governing bodies, legal entities, and/or external authorities.

? Must currently possess or be able to quickly obtain a DOD security clearance. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
