Strategic Sourcing Specialist (Information Technology)

Smithfield Packing Company, the largest subsidiary of Smithfield Foods, has an immediate opportunity for an I/T Strategic Sourcing Specialist, located in Smithfield, Virginia.

Purpose:

To provide support to the Strategic Sourcing centralized service model approach to managing vendor relationships for technical products and services resulting in computer hardware and software opportunities beneficial to the Company.?

Key Responsibilities:

?

???????? Coordinate with requisitioning departments to determine specifications and requirements, and interact with various departments and vendors.

???????? Research, interview and negotiate with technology suppliers to obtain prices and specifications.

???????? Create requisitions and purchase orders for the acquisition of technology related materials.

???????? Monitor company wide purchasing activities to ensure lowest total cost of ownership.

???????? Administer the process for requesting and monitor IT related training requests and associated expenses.?

???????? Administer lease equipment replacements/turnover and recommend purchase/lease options.?

???????? Provide administrative support to IT Strategic Sourcing Manager.

???????? Communicate with the business and IT to identify key resources that can assist in development of contract beneficial to the company.?

?Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

?Excellent communication skills needed to influence, inform and lead other in purchasing related activities. Effective team player.? Ability to develop effective relationships.Technical knowledge necessary to perform duties.Ability to train end-users on technical applications- strongly preferred. Knowledge of Oracle Financials/Purchasing or similar system and functional knowledge of accounts payable and general ledger operations required. 2-5 years experience in information technology with experience in the procurement process.? BS/BA or equivalent experience.
