Strategy Business Analyst

The first Family Dollar store was opened in Charlotte, NC in 1959. It was a relatively small, self-service operation located in a neighborhood convenient to low and middle income consumers. The merchandise assortment featured basic goods for family and home needs, and the no frills, low overhead, cash-and-carry environment provided good value at the lowest price points. As new stores opened in the early years of the Company's existence, it became clear that this merchandising concept filled a niche in the marketplace and held great promise for supporting a chain of much larger size.



The business analyst will work as an internal consultant team member, leader or individual contributor developing and implementing creative solutions to address special needs of unique business situations.  Expertise and work efforts focus on the design and development of systems for internal implementation using MS desktop applications such as Access and Excel.  This position will interface with business personnel to develop requirements, creating technical specifications and delivering stable end user applications and integration components.  This individual will also support lower level staff with regard to projects when needed.  The successful candidate possesses excellent organizational, time management, verbal and written communication skills and will demonstrate a sincere customer satisfaction focus in their daily work functions.

Initial focus of this role will be heavily weighted towards work with our Real Estate and Market Research teams helping to drive reporting and analytics to support: 

New Store Site Acquisition; workflow and pipeline management

New Store Sales Performance

Creation of Management level Dashboard Reports
