Supervisor of Operations

The Time Inc. Information Technology group is looking for a Supervisor of Operations in our Parsippany, NJ location.  This position reports to the Associate Director of Operations.

Duties include: data center management, communicating with the network operations center (NOC), maintenance, monitoring, and support services for servers, storage, backup/recovery systems, server room facilities, and select enterprise systems and technologies.

The successful candidate must have 3-5 years of technical management experience in a highly available (24 X 7) data center environment and the ability to recommend, design, implement and support technology solutions for the business.

The requirement for this position is a strong technical manager to guide, develop and implement enterprise solutions across software and hardware platforms. 
Candidate must also be able to work in a decentralized environment where standards provide the authority and where enterprise initiatives provide the funding and direction. 

Communication skills, with staff and management, are critical to working at Time Inc.  Presentation and written skills are a basic requirement.  Customer service skills, regardless of position or role, are also a must.

Key initiatives for this manager include the use of enterprise storage and backup systems, consideration of an enterprise monitoring/management systems and consideration of a shared computing environment.  In addition, business continuity and disaster recovery are also key priorities.

Experience working in a media environment is a plus but not a requirement. However, experience in a creative environment is a must (advertising, graphics, marketing, sales, etc. are all considered creative environments).

Management skills in terms of developing leaders and managers while at the same time developing strong customer focused relationships.
