Support Analyst - Regional Lead

The UBS Investment Bank based in Stamford, Connecticut is seeking candidates for a Regional Team Lead - Support Analyst to support the FIRC IT GSD Derivatives (Fixed Income Rates & Currencies, Global Services Delivery) IT applications. The Derivatives GSD IT team supports a number of proprietary trading and risk-management applications used by the global Structured Derivatives businesses.

The GSD team is responsible for overall availability of the applications, controls deployment & releases, contingency planning and maintenance of applications in production. In addition we are responsible for strategic tools that will benefit the Structured GSD space. The team is globally distributed the main areas are represented in Stamford, London, Singapore and Hong Kong. These locations mirror the presence of UBS Investment Bank's Structured Rates and Credit desks trading desks. The applications we support are used for pricing, structuring, trade entry, risk management, and risk control of all Structured Derivatives products traded by UBS Investment Bank.

The Regional Team Lead in Stamford will reporting to the Global Lead based in London and will be will be responsible for directly monitoring daily operations and support of all our systems. In addition, objectives will include driving program and process changes through the team and be responsible for the overall management of individuals within that region. You will be the principle contact for the business in your region and liaise strongly with development. You must be service driven and be able to manage & motivate the team. The ability to master new technology, and effectively adapt knowledge and skills is absolutely essential. The Structured Derivatives business uses a wide array of technologies; our systems and infrastructure are expected to evolve rapidly in response to changing market needs. Candidate must be highly detail oriented with good organizational and multi-tasking skills.

Key skills & responsibilities will include:

* Collaborate on projects with colleagues in various different teams across the world.

* Maintain the integrity and availability of core business systems and ensure applications work effectively in a real time environment.

* Control risks and costs within own area (e.g. through automation and by using time/resources efficiently).

* Assist in documenting an efficient GSD standard support model

* Ensure all audit requirements are adhered to and met

Basic Qualifications

* A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Math, Science, Engineering or equivalent work experience.

* A minimum of 5 years technical application support work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred skills and experience:

Candidates should possess experience on at least a number of the skill sets listed below:

* 5 years experience in an IT support or development and or support role.

* Experience with delivery of business requirements.

* Experience in both Unix and Windows environments including windows clients.

* Deployment lifecycle and release management knowledge.

* Rational ClearCase suite, web technologies JSP, XML, DHTML and HTTP servers desirable.

* Prior experience with large-scale transactional client-server systems.

* Ability to develop and extend knowledge and understanding of technology and business issues.
* Be able to order, identify and prioritize issues and their solution.

* Individuals must be self-starting be customer focused and able to coordinate between disparate groups.

* Excellent communication (written and verbal), interpersonal and analytical skills.

* Ability to work independently and possess the desire to learn.

* Daily management or team leadership experience.

* Practical development experience in one of the following VB, VB.Net, C# (desirable).

* Knowledge of SQL is a plus (desirable).

* Attention to detail.

* Distributed computing knowledge.

* ITIL qualification or equivalent knowledge.

* Knowledge of the Fixed Income business

* Experience of management/team lead.

* Assist in documenting an efficient GSD standard support model.
