Sybase DBA

We have an urgent and critical opportunity for a Sybase DBA with at least 3 years of experience.?Resources should be knowledgeable in all major aspects in supporting a Sybase Production Database Environment.? This includes:Experience of Sybase ASE 11.9/12/12.5 database and database structures Experience to deploy, manage and maintain large, high transaction rate Sybase database on Sun Solaris Experience with Sybase replication servers. Experience in setting up database logging, backup and recovery procedure Experience in shell scripting, creation of objects, normalization, general database troubleshooting Experience in database performance tuning and optimization Installation and configuration of Sybase ASE? database servers and databases Trans-SQL programming and use of stored procedures Oracle 10g experience is a plus. ?Primary Duties/Responsibilities: ???????? Creation and setup of Sybase servers and databases???????? Standardization and documentation of Sybase database environments???????? Develop and administer processes for performance tuning of databases???????? Develop and administer processes for capacity planning???????? Provide proactive performance monitoring of databases ensuring service levels are met???????? Administrate change control of physical data structure for all environments???????? Develop and administer backup, restore and disaster recovery procedures for databases???????? Provide 24x7 on-call support on a rotating basis.?Formal Education (minimum requirement to perform job duties):? ????????? Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems. ?License/Registration/Certification (minimum): ??Work Experience? ????????? 3 years experience working as a Sybase DBA????????? Familiarity with another Database Discipline preferably Oracle, SQL Server. ?????????
