Sybase Database Administrator

Effective execution of the role includes the following requirements and associated skills:

* Production support - backup / restore, alerts monitoring, request management, performance tuning, setup/modify sybase replication

* Production changes - Build sybase ASEs, implement changes to highly replicated DB environment

* Weekend Planned work, Oncalls once every six weeks

Basic Qualifications

* Minimum 7 years experience in database administration

* Minimum 2 years experience in managing DataGuard and Broker environments

* Minimum 2 years experience in Oracle 9i and 10g on Sun Solaris & Linux.

* Minimum 2 years experience in building/supporting infrastructure for very high transactional (1000+tps) and large databases (TB range)

* Minimum 2 years experience in different disaster-recovery and backup procedures

* Minimum 2 years experience experience in supporting production and non production environments

Preferred Qualifications

* Four year degree or international equivalent

* Prior experience supporting trading applications a big plus
