System Administrator - Junior Level

GeoEngineers, Inc., a leading national environmental and engineering consulting services provider, is seeking a talented System Administrator (Junior Level) for our Anchorage, AK location.

Our System Administrator (Junior Level) will be responsible for carrying out system administration and service support tasks in a Windows/Unix environment. This individual will perform daily system administration functions, resolve hardware and system issues, and provide end user support.

 

Preferred qualifications: BS in Computer Science or related field.  2-3 years experience and proficiency in the configuration and troubleshooting of the following technologies: Small electronic devices, interoperability between software and hardware devices, NAS device management, Windows 2003 Server, Unix/Linux/SUN servers, and Microsoft Office Suite. Experience working in a corporate environment supporting 10+ users. Solid understanding of networking/distributed computing environment concepts, principles of routing, client/server architecture and design of consistent network-wide file system layouts. Experience with installation and maintenance of network cabling as well as SCSI device setup and installation. Demonstrated hardware and software testing and troubleshooting skills. Scripting skills (Shell, WMI) a plus! Experience administering, testing, and troubleshooting tape backup, restoration and archival processes and procedures. Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
