System Administrator position VM9379

Client in need of a System Administrator for a permanent engagement in St. Petersburg Fl with a very high profile company.

 

REQUREIMENTS
8-10 years of Unix System Management Experience
?Working Knowledge of AIX, Solaris & Linux
?Knowledge of TRU64 Unix is a plus
?Working knowledge of Raid concepts, Enterprise Tape Libraries,  Storage Area Networks
?Good Shell scripting skills
?Hands on experience with the following hardware (Intel DL380s, IBM Pseries, Sun Fire servers)
?Strong analysis and problem solving skills
?Able to work with little direction
?Occasional travel is required

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

-To provide system administration support for Unix environments, including day to day operations, installation and configuration of hardware and software, performance management and problem resolution. 
-To diagnose server/system operational problems quickly and effectively, provide recommendations and solutions.
Install, maintain and upgrade system software and associated layered products (Tru64 Unix, AIX, Solaris, Linux, LSM, LVM, Advance File Systems).
-To provide reliable and efficient backups/restores for all managed systems.  To install, configure and maintain Tape Library Systems.
-To provide system software support for Check Technology users on the daily basis.  Create user accounts, monitor disk space, monitor system and disk I/O performance, create shell scripts to automate daily tasks.
-Implement and enforce Unix policies for all company Check Technology users.
-Analyze system requirements based upon business goals/make recommendations.
-Setup security on all Unix systems to comply with the company security standards.
-7x24 on call support.
