System Analyst - Mercer HR Services US
Mercer HR Services currently has an opening for a Systems Analyst (Microsoft Internet Information Server Specialist) to be responsible for coordinating Information System (IS) projects with management, users, IS staff and vendors. The analyst will act as the technical product expert, responding to complex user inquiries and troubleshooting software/hardware issues in a 24/7/365 environment for an online business. To fulfill this role, the System Analyst will need to be an expert in IIS, COM+, distributed application architecture, and .NET services. Understanding of Microsoft Message Queue and Oracle Database Server are definite pluses. Experience supporting, maintaining, and troubleshooting distributed custom built web applications is a must. The candidate should also be familiar with stringent change management practices and have experience supporting Online Transactional Processes (OLTP) applications.
Day to day responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Provide a high level of technical support and problem resolution to IT Operations and other internal teams.
Provide break/fix support to include rotating on-call support for productions systems 24X7.
Lead any efforts to resolve highly complex technical problems.
Provide direction to IT Operations team including scheduling, technical support and advice.
Will analyze existing systems, proactively recommending enhancements and detecting and solving a wide range of difficult problems through technical leadership.
Mentors junior staff on technical and analytical skills.
Understand the general technical requirements of assigned applications and business requirements.
Provide consultation to client teams.
Create policy and procedures as needed.
Research new technologies that will increase corporate productivity and enable better service. Align efforts by focusing on process improvements throughout IT Operations.
Planning for growth.
Budget planning.
Interacts with vendors for support, pricing, and technical advisement.
Develop advanced tools and techniques to improve technology deployment quality, productivity, and functionality
Responsible for developing and enforcing network security policy and procedures.
Create product definition documents, system test plans, detailed physical/logical design architectures, and maintain documented standards for all technology solutions deployed.
Excellent customer service and communication skills
BS in the Information Technology related field and/or minimum of 5 years experience. MCSE. Any other technical certifications will also be considered a plus.Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Server technologies. IIS, Message Queuing, .NET, & Active Directory. Expertise with installing and using various software packages.PC operating systems, Email systems, Web-Servers, Remote Access Systems, Virus Protection systems and Server/PC management software. Advanced knowledge of LAN topologies and TCP/IP protocols.Abilities to multi-task, work odd hours on short notice, work with many different people and personalities. Must have excellent communication skills, be able to work independently, adapt to changes easily and quickly, make decisions, be highly motivated and customer service oriented.Team player
