The System Engineer, Global Resource Information Delivery (GRID) is responsible for the implementation and support of Cerner’s corporate IT infrastructure backup solutions.  The System Engineer, GRID will be the primary contact for resolving backup/restore issues and ensuring that primary objectives of associate satisfaction and system uptime are achieved.  The System Engineer, GRID  will be required to gain quick proficiency in a variety of technical tasks, learning and complying with all GRID processes and procedures, escalating issues as necessary, and creating/updating all required documentation.

Bachelor of Science degree in a technical discipline such as Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or Management Information SystemsThe ability to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyThe ability to efficiently and proficiently troubleshoot technical problemsThe ability to work outside standard working hours as necessaryThe ability to provide on-call availability via pager or corporate mobile phoneTechnical experience designing and supporting backup solutions in a production Information Technology environment preferredPractical networking understanding preferredExpertise in the following applications or solutions desired:  Veritas NetBackup,Tivoli Storage Manager, AIX, Microsoft Server and EMC SAN Storage
