Job description:
Enterprise tape backup/restore operations, support, and trouble
resolution of midrange tape automated system using Veritas Netbackup
software. This position is responsible for the execution and monitoring
of automated and/or manual tape backup and data restorations. Functional
activities include but are not limited to starting of scheduled backup
jobs, restarting and rescheduling of backup jobs, rotating tapes off
site for secure storage, trouble resolution of failed backup jobs and
restoration of data as required by systems.

* Required Skills
1. Veritas Netbackup 5.1 certification preferred 2. Minimum 3 years
experience in storage systems, specifically tape storage, including tape
backup, tape management systems, and/or storage management systems 3.
Unix server system admin 4. System troubleshooting 5. Multitasking 6.
Skilled in oral and written communications 7. Medium level proficiency
in scripting, network configuration concepts 8. Experience configuring
and implementing Veritas Vault.
9. Experience with nontraditional backup technologies such as Veritas
NetBackup Advanced Client and the Hierarchical Storage Manager.

The primary duties of this position include:
* Schedule, monitor, and troubleshoot data backup jobs.
* Review error/exception trend and recommend resolutions
* Analyze reports and determine root cause, implement systemic
corrections
* Provide ?on-call, after-hours support for data backup/restore
environment.
* Manage tape cartridge population.
* Perform data restore requests.
* Assist with training other technical staff on the use of data backup
applications.
* Administering Enterprise software to ensure data is available, secure,
and recoverable.
* Monitoring hardware and software to isolate failures and coordinate
corrections involving the appropriate vendor and/or company technical
staff.
