Systems Admin - Systems Analyst
Responsibilities % of Time Provide internal operational support for a wide variety of clustered systems, stand alone servers, applications, batch processes, backup and recovery processing, and databases. These systems include varieties of UNIX operating systems (Solaris, HP-UX, AIX, etc.), Linux and Windows. Hardware platforms range from Sun, HP, IBM, Intel, EMC, NetApp, Brocade, HDS, etc. 60
Execute detailed instructions to support operation and maintenance of systems, servers, applications, and databases.
Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve system, batch, and application failures.
Provide Systems Administrator level support on outstanding issues and production failures.
Coordinate trouble ticket generation, event management, and reporting during abnormal operational events.
Perform escalation and notification procedures in accordance with department guidelines and service level agreements (SLA).
Act as focal point for outage resolution and escalation as assigned by shift lead or senior management. 20
Prioritize daily, weekly, and monthly batch and backup schedules.
Implement end-to-end operations support and strategy.
Mentor and help develop the skills of other analysts.
Team with technical analysts, administrators, and management to execute post-resolution procedures and identification of root-cause and root-fix procedures.
Assist Business Analysts on special projects, documentation reviews, and troubleshooting of chronic issues as assigned by shift leads and senior management.
Participate in staff meetings and group training sessions. 20
Steward data center access by vendors and contractors.
Execute system backup/recovery procedures.
Perform additional related duties as deemed necessary by the Senior Management.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience
? Demonstrated experience in UNIX/Linux administration similar to 1-3 Years Unix/Linux Administration experience and/or UNIX/Linux certification
? Demonstrated experience in WinTel administration similar to 1-3 Years WinTel Administration experience and/or MCSE certification (Preferred)
? 1+ years experience in computer operations, production control or other IT related field (Highly Preferred)

Skills and Abilities
? Demonstrated working knowledge of the UNIX based System Administration required (HP-UX, Solaris, Linux).
? Demonstrated working knowledge of Veritas filesystems.
? Demonstrated working knowledge of Weblogic servers and clusters (Preferred)
? Knowledge of TCP/IP suite of protocols supporting integrated IT systems
? Demonstrated capability of Windows System Administration (Preferred)
? Practical experience with enterprise storage and backup/recovery management strategies (Strongly Desired)
? Works cooperatively with others to produce innovative solutions
? Strong verbal and written communication skills required for interaction with groups or individuals
? Demonstrated capacity for event management of highly integrated and automated application environments
? Demonstrated ability to prioritize and multitask in a multi-platform and highly integrated environment
? Ability to learn quickly and apply new knowledge correctly and consistently
? Effectively applies technical knowledge to solve a range of problems including relational database concepts
? Is willing to make decisions in difficult or ambiguous situations when time is critical
? Must have flexibility and willingness to support a 7x24 operations environment by working nights and weekends
? Understanding of Tivoli Workload Scheduler, BMC Patrol, Netcool, Netbackup, and Remedy Help Desk (Highly Preferred)
