Systems Administrator (2006-41)

Administers IT infrastructure and provides end-user support under the direction of the Director of Information Technology.  Installs, configures and administers PC?s, LAN?s and WAN?s in the local office, for an organization with a dozen offices across the country. Performs system backups on network servers.Summary of Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

?  Provides IT support to PIRE offices worldwide, diagnosing computer, LAN and WAN problems remotely and remotely administering networks.

?  Maintains computer systems including disk drives, tape backups for all workstations and plans for upgrades.

?  Orients and trains end users

?  Configures new computer systems and modifies existing configurations.

?  Manages the backup system and, if necessary, restores files on the network server and local machines.

?  Provides support for desktop application and groupware applications such as Sharepoint.

?  Installs new servers and related software on Microsoft servers.

?  Administers server applications. E.g. Sharepoint, Exchange.

?  Provides assistance as necessary to users and orients new users.

?  Performs other duties assigned.

 Qualifications/Requirements:

Bachelors Degree or equivalent and four years of computer science experience.  Demonstrated knowledge of computer software/hardware, Windows Servers (AD) and Workstations. Sharepoint and GroupWise or Exchange. Direct experience with networking, videoconferencing, VoIP, and PBX systems desired.
