Systems Administrator/Programmer

Spartan Brands, Inc., a leading manufacturer of beauty products, is seeking a Systems Administrator/Programmer.

 

Responsibilities will include:

 

Program using MS Access, VBA/VB6 and MS SQL to develop, enhance and maintain application systems for accounting, sales, manufacturing and distribution of goods. Convert from Platinum/Btrieve and Access systems over to new ERP system in future.

 

Installation, configuration, and maintenance of the organization's client and server environment for our corporate office and manufacturing/distribution facilities.

Perform production support functions, as well as, analysis and resolution of problems associated with client and server hardware, operating systems, and application software. Position will assist users with applications and provide some user training.


Software experience:
* Microsoft Windows 2000 Server and Active Directory
* Microsoft Exchange 2000
* Microsoft SQL Server
* Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional and XP
* Microsoft Office (Access, Excel, Word)

* Microsoft VBA and VB6

* Crystal Reports exp a plus

Installation and Configuration experience:
* Network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls)
* Printers
* Servers (Domain Controllers, E-Mail, Database, File, Web)
* Tapes Drives, Backup Software
* Client PC and Macs


Key attributes:
* Ability to efficiently manage multiple tasks
* Ability to interact with users

* Ability to develop and implement system/procedure/employee training
* Knowledge of EDI and Apple Macintosh systems is a big plus
* Minimum of five years related experience in a Programming and Technical Support environment
