Systems Administrator - Windows, Email, Network

This individual is responsible for highly complex activities related to system administration in a multi-data center environment. Ensures long-term requirements of systems operations and administration are included in the overall information systems planning of the organization. Responsible for the installation, maintenance, configuration and integrity of multiple computer systems in a large-scale highly complex technical environment. Implements operating system enhancements that will improve the reliability and performance of the system. Review detailed technical designs, develop implementation plans, and execute high quality technical solutions. This position is scheduled to work 12 hour shifts from 7pm-7am, 3-4 nights per week. No pager will be required during off time.Member of the Critical Problem Resolution (CPR) Incident Team.
Isolate, diagnose and remediate complex system problems including root cause analysis.
Responsible for monitoring, operations, user support and incident management for Windows Servers, Exchange Email and Networking Systems
Determination and assignment of appropriate service priorities and escalation as required.
Conduct of research/assessment of available systems/technology to solve business problems.
Exploitation of systems management tools/technology to drive delivery of optimal performance, availability and recovery solutions.
Create and maintain support documentation.
Coordination and communications with Shift CPR Manager and teammates.Four-year college degree in computer science, information systems or a related field, or equivalent work experience
One year of experience with MS Windows Server, MS Exchange and Networking support is required
Two years experience administering Windows systems.
Experience with Web Servers (Apache or Stronghold) would be a plus
Demonstrated competency with monitoring tools such as BMC Patrol, Netview, Unicenter
Strong Analytical and prioritization skills
- Demonstrated experience providing immediate response to systems problems
Excellent inter personal, change management and communications skills
Problem solving ability to include analytical, diagnostic, prioritization, and escalation skills
Adaptability and flexibility in a fast changing environment
Experience working with cross-functional information technology teams
Planning and organization skills
Understanding of process and project management
