Systems Administrator with SQL Experience

 

American Baptist Homes of the West, a trusted name in the field of senior living and health care, is looking to add a knowledgeable and energetic member to our corporate office team. The qualified candidate will have at least 3 years experience in Microsoft systems administration as well as 2 years experience in SQL database administration.

 

The primary responsibility of this position is to assist the lead DBA with support and maintenance of multiple SQL databases. Secondary responsibilities will be assigned based on candidate skill set and the needs of the IT team, but could include server support and tier 3 user support. Systems may include Great Plains, Ceridian, Kronos, FRx, Exchange, Active Directory, and Track-it.

 

?  Perform routine maintenance on SQL databases including backups, tuning, and security.

?  Manage and ensure the integrity of host computers, multiple databases and data transfer.

?  Analyze system or application usage and plan for growth or increases in network capacity.

?  Assess need for any system reconfigurations (minor or significant) and execute them if required.

?  Accurately Install and configure relevant network components to ensure database access as well as database consistency and integrity.

?  Respond to and resolve database access and performance issues in a timely manner.

?  Monitor database system details within the database, including stored procedures and execution time, and implement efficiency improvements.

?  Design and implement redundant systems, policies, and procedures for disaster recovery and data archiving to ensure effective protection and integrity of data assets.

?  Monitor, optimize and allocate physical data storage for database systems.

?  Produce reports on the databases upon request.

 

 

MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

?  College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science or 5 years equivalent work experience.

?  Minimum of 2 years of SQL Database Administration experience.

?  Technical Knowledge and Skill ? Advanced knowledge of various computer applications such as Ceridian Source 500, Crystal Reports, Microsoft SQL, Citrix, Microsoft Operating systems.

?  Communication ? Effective interpersonal skills required in interactions with employees, management and corporate staff and residents. Keeps management informed.Customer Focus ? Making employees and their needs a primary focus of one?s actions; developing and sustaining productive employee relationships.Teamwork / Collaboration ? Developing and using collaborative relationships to facilitate the accomplishment of work goals.Exchange, Active Directory, or VMware experience a plus.
