Systems Analyst - NY

Exciting 1 year contract opportunity.

The right consultant will be the principal Systems Analyst on a project to add enhancements to an ADABAS/Natural mainframe application. The enhancements will serve these basic purposes:

Adding specific features requested by the stakeholders.

Adding modern interface, printing, and inquiry functionality to a legacy mainframe application as a bridge between the current application and its planned replacement.

Consultant engagement will consist of the following major tasks:

Documenting detailed functional requirements for the enhancements.

Documenting the business processes impacted by the enhancements, including process flow, decision points and business rules.

Assessing technical and feasibility issues.

Preparing a detailed specification for the development of the enhancements including:

o Detailed documentation of the above tasks.

o Specific project deliverables.

o Selection criteria for a solution provider.

MANDATORY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE Note: candidates who do not have the mandatory skills will not be considered.

Candidate must have substantial experience in multiple aspects of software lifecycle including: as a project manager, business process analyst, and developer.

Candidate must have substantial project experience in at least 3 of the following areas:

Web-enabling mainframe applications.

Web applications.

Applications making use of GIS technologies.

Applications used to manage infrastructure such as roads, bridges, or highways.

Engineering applications.

Permitting applications.
