Systems Analyst/Tester

Summary:

The Systems Analyst/Tester provides design, development, testing, documentation and implementation support for a variety of automated applications.  Under direction of Project Manager, provides management and supervision of junior project personnel.  The Systems Analyst/Tester may travel domestically and internationally to conduct system presentations, training evolutions and implementation cycles in the user?s environment.

Specific Duties:

*  Works with system end users to determine required application requirements
*  Records system requirements through a series of formal documents which describe operational attributes and discrete system modules.  System design efforts may include development of database structures required to support application operations.
*  Conducts assessment of alternative development technologies and environments to determine applicability for current and anticipated operational requirements
*  Presents system design concepts to members of the user community and sponsoring program office to ensure compliance with stated requirements
*  In conjunction with other elements of the team, prepares project schedules, and coordinates efforts of junior team members to ensure adherence to development objectives
*  Coordinates efforts of other team members to ensure task completion within scheduled time limits
*  Conducts unit and system testing to detect system deficiencies, and records test results within an automated defect tracking system
*  Generates and performs QA checks on system documentation (Users Manuals, Training Manuals, system orientation briefings, etc.) used to convey system capabilities to end users
*  Supports product briefings and demonstrations as necessary to support customer and internal corporate requirements
*  Generates system interface specifications for automated data exchange between distributed system sites or with external applications
*  Conducts research and document findings relating to future development alternatives and enhanced system features

 

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree (or equivalent combination of education and experience) and a minimum of 3 years full lifecycle software development experience required. 

Additional Requirements: 

*  Knowledge of Microsoft operating systems (Windows 2000,XP) and office suite (Word, Power Point and Excel)
*  Ability to apply formal procedures through all stages of the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
*  Knowledge of system design techniques, including database design, functional specifications, testing procedures/documentation, etc.
*  Effective interpersonal skills
*  Ability to plan and prioritize work
*  US Citizenship or US Lawful Permanent residency required

 

Desired Skills and Knowledge:

Possession of an MS degree is desired.  Supervisory experience is also desired.  Knowledge of Oracle 9i/10g AS environments a plus.
