POSITION PURPOSE:
The programmer is responsible for design and implementation of Affinity systems, reviewing and planning the installation of third-party products and investigating and fixing bugs. Modifications performed by a programmer may affect server operating system configuration, server systems software, server application software and third party software.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
? Design, coding and implementation of Affinity systems
? Submitting software specifications and maintaining documentation
? Investigating problems that arise in production systems
? Staying abreast of new technologies necessary to meet technical requirements of the company
? All other duties as assigned by the Manager, Systems Development
DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
? Bachelor?s degree or equivalent work experience
? Minimum 5 years experience working in UNIX / Linux based software development environment
? Languages: C, PHP, Perl
? Networking: TCP/IP, iptables
? Knowledge of software lifecycle and design methodologies
? Strong interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills
? Ability to continually learn new technologies
? Ability to work and multi-task in an interactive environment
Experience in any of the following is also helpful:
? Proficient with MySQL
? Understand XMLrpc or SOAP
? Find creative solutions to automate manual tasks with code
