Systems Engineer - PeopleSoft Technical Support

Job location: New Orleans, LA and Northern Virginia

 

The Integration Development Team requires a resource to assist with debugging and performance tuning on a large-scale AIX/DB2 PeopleSoft Implementation. Interface solutions are developed with IBM Websphere Technologies and Component Interfaces.

 

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities Develop and/or maintain PeopleSoft software application infrastructure Technical services; Peoplesoft software and hardware architecture design and maintenance Software architecture engineering; methodology. Accurate work planning and execution; accurate project and time tracking.

 

Required Technical Skills Candidate must have strong technical support skills in administering PeopleSoft systems including PeopleSoft architecture and support in a multi-platform environment. This position will support PeopleSoft installations across AIX environments. This position is responsible for troubleshooting, monitoring, tuning, system's management, administration and project support. Integration with other PeopleSoft products and centralized IT management & operations is required. Knowledge of AIX and DB2, especially in a large scaled matrix organization.

 

Broad PeopleSoft knowledge and support experience including a high degree of expertise across numerous applications, systems, and processes is necessary. Required Soft Skills Excellent working relationship with other team members, developers, project teams, and management. Requires good organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage concurrent tasks/requests.

 

Candidate must have excellent time management skills, meet deadlines and be results oriented. Candidate must be able to resolve team issues/conflicts. Candidate must work well with DOD Agencies, know when and how hard to push to maintain a stable and reliable environment. Candidate should display a strong knowledge of business partner communication methods and cross team/user relationships with the ability to clearly articulate issues and requirements to all levels in the organization. Nature and Scope Reports to a Integration Technical Manager. Typically procedures for analyzing situations and making conclusions are very diverse. Typically solves problems by considering courses of action within the framework of management's goals and standards. Typically, once given general assignments, determines priorities and defines what should be done and how to do it.

 

Minimum Qualifications: U.S. Citizenship required. Must pass the Background Check to attain a Security Clearance. Education Required The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelors degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
