Systems Engineer needed in DC area

USAC, a dynamic private company in downtown DC, has an outstanding opportunity for a regular full-time position of a Systems Engineer.  The purpose of this position is to provide administration of all information technology related hardware & software.  Support end-users in terms of network and computer issues.

 

The successful candidate will have:

 

? 4-6 years direct work experience in computer networking;

? 4-6 years demonstrated successful routing & switching;

? At least 3 years hands-on experience with UNIX, Network Monitoring;

? At least 2 years hands-on experience with Firewall Maintenance;

? Associate?s degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology and/or Systems;

? Prefer a candidate with MCSE & Cisco certification;

? Prefer a candidate with Network Security background.

 

Responsibilities include:

 

? Responsible for Network Infrastructure Maintenance;  Network Infrastructure Building (Switches, Routers, Firewalls, UNIX and Windows servers, desktops, server room and wiring infrastructure);  Network Infrastructure Monitoring (alerts, notifications and reports on server, network,  and environmentals);

? Perform Level 3 helpdesk duties.
