Systems Engineering Professional - Data Center (2005444)

Perrigo is the world's largest manufacturer of over-the-counter pharmaceutical and nutritional products for the store brand and contract manufacturing markets and an emerging developer, manufacturer and marketer of prescription generic drugs.

The incumbent provides expert level technical support for the core components of Perrigo?s infrastructure environment, including client, server and enterprise software services. As an Engineer, the incumbent designs, implements, validates and supports standard/cGMP qualified infrastructure systems bsed on innovative, industry-standard solutions. The Systems Engineering Professional isolates and resolves system problems, analyzes support patterns to proactively prevent issues, researches and develops new support processes, and assists with strategic planning of shared computing services. Continuous education is required to maintain competency in a fast changing business and technical environment.

Principal Accountabilities include:
1) Reliability, performance, and cost effectiveness of Perrigo?s infrastructure environment;
2) Knowledgeable and courteous technical support for colleaues within the IS department and business areas;
3) Thorough research, testing, and documentation of infrastructure environment and processes;
4) Effective working relationships with all Perrigo personnel, and
5) Compliance with all policies and SOPs.

Required Skills:
Qualified candidates must possess data center experience including SAN (EMC preferred), VMWare Server, Backup software, Data archiving, and server hardware and blade centers (IBM preferred). Experience with Microsoft Operation Manager and Miscrosoft file and print clustering is also required. Experience creating, testing and implementing disaster recovery plans is strongly preferred. Data Center design and planning experience, including HVAC, UPS and cabling is also preferred. Good interpersonal communication skills are essential. Experience leading technical project is strongly preferred.
