Key Responsibilities:
?Provide architectural guidance and driving infrastructure decisions in collaboration with other technical and management stakeholders
?Set the Architectural direction for layers 1-4 of an ASP infrastructure
?Collaborate with the Application Architect, Development, and Operations teams, as well as key vendors (Cisco, F5, Red Hat, NetworkAppliance, EMC, Sun, Dell, BEA, JBoss, Oracle).
?Ensure Production infrastructure is sized appropriately and has adequate head-room for growth. Responsible for sizing recommendations for all upgrades, including new deployments and upgrades.
?Work with the Architecture, Development, and Operations teams to ensure adequate pre-production environments to achieve its goals, including R&D, Dev-Test, Product Verification, Staging, and Production.
?Develop RFPs and manage key vendor relationships.
Required Skills
?Previous Architecture experience with large-scale distributed systems
?Domain experience with at least one of the following: System Administration for Linux or Solaris, System Administration of Application Servers, Database
?Previous experience managing large projects
?Management of vendor relationships, including negotiations and RFP responses
?Strong understanding of networking technologies

?Sun Solaris and Red Hat OS
?Load balancers (F5, Alteon, or Cisco)
?Cisco networking equipment
?Storage Technologies (NAS/SAN - NetworkAppliance/EMC)
?Caching strategies (Squid, Akamai/CDN, etc)
?Dell servers
?Sun entry-level to mid-range servers
?Oracle
?Apache
