Harte-Hanks Austin is looking for a Systems/Network Administrator capable of maintaining systems in Windows 2000/2003. This individual will be responsible for configuring, tuning, and maintaining hardware and software for the Harte-Hanks server environment and coordinating site and cross-site Windows 2000/2003 and Active Directory support.

 

We are looking for a candidate that has 2 or more years of experience in Systems or Network Administrator role, a clear understanding of Microsoft Windows, and strong practical knowledge of the Intel hardware platform. The primary focus of this position will be to ensure maximum uptime and security in a 7x24 mission critical environment.

 

Primary Job Responsibilities

 

?  Perform daily maintenance on production servers to ensure optimal performance.

?  Troubleshoot networking and system problems.

?  Manage the MS Active Directory environment.

?  Maintain anti-virus software on systems as required.

?  Install software and deploy new systems.

?  Enforce security policies and ensure compliance with all Corporate security directives.

?  On call 24 X 7 (primary on call rotation on a weekly basis) in case of systems problems.

?  Perform tape backups and system monitoring on production and development servers to ensure system integrity and recoverability.

?  Perform other duties as assigned.

 

 

Qualifications:

 

?  Expert troubleshooting skills and techniques (hardware, software, network).

?  Able to take ownership of and troubleshoot a broad variety of systems problems.

?  Demonstrated proficiency with standard SERVER hardware and software.

?  Demonstrated proficiency with Windows 2000 and Windows 2003 operating systems.

?  Demonstrated proficiency with Active Directory administration

?  Experience with GPO management

?  Proficient at using all available resources for troubleshooting and problem solving.

 

Qualifications Preferred:

 

?  Experience managing Tape Backup infrastructure

?  Proficiency troubleshooting a layer 2 environment.

?  Knowledge of at least ONE scripting language (VBS, PERL, etc.)

?  Experience with Cisco IOS

?  Experience with network monitoring tools

?  Experience with packet trace tools

 

Pluses - Ability to work after-hours and weekends as needed.  Able to quickly and clearly diagnose and communicate problems, and ensure the resolution of any problems identified.
