First To File (www.firsttofile.com) is a web application company that seeks a systems operations engineer with the following skills:Must have mature experience with operating, backing up and maintaining unix hardware (monthly health checks of the systems by physical observation), operating systems and network systems (mainly Cisco). 

 Experience with *nix systems mainly Solaris and Linux (Red hat variety specifically). 

 JBOSS, Apache, sendmail, BEA, Oracle (10g, 9i, 8), Webdav, Cisco IOS, routing and VPN technologies and the usual tools that go along with normal day to day Unix system administration.

 

This position will monitor the multiple instances of our web application for availability and fix/restart application services as needed, ensure backups are running properly, test backup restores periodically, visually inspect hardware for any failures monthly, and the normal System Ops functions needed to run the servers on a day to day basis.


Someone easy to work with is preferred for this company that is easy to work for.  16 - 24 hours per month to start on a consulting basis.  This position will turn into a full time position for the candidate that proves they fit our needs.

Development skills in J2EE a plus and would be utilized.

 

All work is onsite in Boise, ID.
