Duties/Responsibilities:

? Perform system administration tasks for the Application Hosting lab equipment and networks. Includes software and hardware installation and configuration and network administration.

? Perform system backups per established procedures. Recommend and implement changes to the backup procedures.

? Maintain version control of operating systems, RDBMS and Client environments.

? Perform upgrades of operating systems, RDBMS, and Client environments.

? Create and maintain database instances to support Clients.

? Recommend and implement changes to improve database performance.

? Participate in developing and maintaining a one to two year plan for the Application hosting lab.

? Provide input on required software and hardware for the annual budgeting process.

? Ability to work directly with clients to resolve technical issues.


Qualifications:

? With a Bachelor degree 2 to 4 years of experience required. No degree requires 8 to 10 years of experience. Preferred degree in computer science or other related field.

? Previous experience in system and database administration with increasing levels of responsibility.

? Knowledge of system and database administration principles.

? Strong Knowledge of UNIX operating systems

? Knowledge of W2K operating systems.

? At least 2 - 4 years experience in UNIX systems administration.

? At least 2 ? 4 years experience with NT system administration.

? At least 2 years experience with Oracle 8i or higher administration.

? Knowledge of PERL script Language.

? Knowledge of SQL.

? Knowledge of UNIX script Languages.

? Familiarity with TCP/IP and Internet Technologies.

? Familiarity with Network Based Backup Systems.

? Ability to lift heavy equipment (~200lbs)

? Ability of keep detailed records of and maintain written documentation of system administration activities and procedures.

? Strong oral and written communication skills.

? Familiarity with CA TNG Unicenter

? Familiarity with PKI technologies

? Familiarity with Firewall/VPN solutions

? Familiarity with Linux, AIX

? Familiarity with Legato Networker.

? Familiarity with BEA Weblogic or other J2EE compliant Application Server administration.
