Systems Programmer/Analyst
MUST BE ELIGIBLE FOR DoD SECURITY CLEARANCE
The Systems Programmer will develop software implementing data protocol conversions, protocol simulators, protocol management applications, user interfaces, and web services to integrate vendor-specific, DoD and open location protocols with client mapping applications and other Geographic Information Systems.
The Systems Programmer serves as a member of the Loyola development team responsible for requirements analysis, program design, development, testing and documentation. The programmer may design and code programs in Visual Studio 6 (VB, C++), Visual Studio .NET (VB, C#, C++), Java, scripts in VBScript, JavaScript and other high-level languages as required. The Systems Programmer will verify accuracy and completeness of all written code. Test software and procedures will be developed to evaluate the robustness, correctness and other characteristics of applications, plug-ins, and system software. The programmer may also develop or collaborate in the development of database schemas, process charts, functional block diagrams, and prepare test data to facilitate software design and implementation. The Systems Programmer will also be responsible for proper use of design, programming/implementation techniques, interfacing with customer technical experts and members of Loyola?s development staff. The Systems Programmer will develop documentation from software requirements and system specifications; work with other staff in a team environment; assist with development of geospatial web applications/services and will be responsible for developing related CGI scripts and programs. The Systems Programmer will also be responsible for writing code that makes efficient utilization of networks, servers and network attached devices through network monitoring modeling and simulation techniques. The Systems Programmer will investigate/analyze system problems, determine operational impacts and coordinate problem resolution and provide program debugging, perform troubleshooting, and provide testing assistance in all aspects of software development and maintenance as required.
Required Skills: 3 years of software development experience minimum, Visual Basic 6, Visual C++, TCP/IP Client/Server Programming, ActiveX/COM, .NET Framework, Relational Database Connectivity
Preferred Skills: Visual Studio 6 (VB, C++), Visual Studio .NET (VB, C#, C++), Java; RDBMS (Oracle, SQL Server), ADO, ASP, GIS Concepts, ESRI MapObjects, ArcObjects, ArcIMS, ArcServer, Understanding of LAN, WAN and Wireless (RF) Networks, VBScript, JavaScript
Education: BS degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
Salary: Commensurate with experience.
