TSD-DVS2 Technical Help Desk Technician

Tactical Systems Division, DVS-II program.

Applicant will provide technical administrative support to the Defense Information System Network (DISN) Video Services (DVS) activities.  Successful applicants will perform duties including answering and screening telephone calls in a call center environment, send and receive faxes, and generate track, and maintain trouble tickets related to the DVS-II program.  Additional duties will relate to the maintenance of the DVS-II schedule and customer service of the network availability, program inventory tracking, and performing basic administration functions of the DVS-II helpdesk including reports and user administration.  There will be some variable shift work required.

Principal duties include: Responding to routine questions from end-users regarding a wide variety of computer software and local area network operations including printing, logging on, working in various software packages, and accessing applications on the servers. Forwarding complex computer or communications-related questions to appropriate points of contact. Following up to ensure end-user questions have been answered. Maintaining documentation of problems and resolutions. Identifying possible resolutions to end-user problems and contacting same to ensure problem is solved.




Experience in the following areas is required:
Applicants must have working experience with Microsoft Office applications, Windows, and Internet Explorer.
Applicants must have strong verbal, spelling, and typing stills.
Applicants must be able to multi-task and be self-motivated.
Applicants must be able to maintain a courteous disposition when addressing a difficult customer. 
Active DoD Secret clearance is required.

Experience in the following areas is an asset:
Prior work in a help desk environment
Prior experience with COTS trouble desk ticketing systems
