Team Lead, Search and Find

We are looking for a talented, energetic individual to lead a team of software engineers as we continue to enhance Westlaw, the world?s leading legal research software.  Specifically, this role leads the development and support team of search features, the most frequently used function on Westlaw. 

 

Primary Responsibilities: Supervise a team of 15 - 20 software engineers responsible for the development of software solutions in a large, integrated, multi-tier, cross-platform applicationSupervise a team of 3-4 outsourced resources on legacy supportDrive the evolution of legacy applications to newer J2EE technologies and distributed systems strategies.Organize and prioritize group tasks, and allocate development resources for key project initiatives, architecture investments, and support.Commit to the continued career growth of the individuals on the team by providing mentoring, career guidance, training opportunities and feedback throughout the year as well as annual performance evaluations.Provide timely and accurate communication in oral and written formats.Assist manager with hiring and salary administration.Partner with other technical leaders within West to ensure that investments are made in the technical knowledge base of the staff and that the team is equipped with the most effective development platforms and  tools

 

 

Minimum Qualifications: 4 year college degree in Computer Science or a related field 5+ years of experience in Information Technology, including people and project leadership experienceExperience with software development and systems support Knowledge or experience with Java (or related programming language)Excellent verbal and written communication skillsProven record of meeting deadlines and producing quality work

 

Preferred or Desired Qualifications: (Not required for consideration)Familiarity with Westlaw
