Tech Lead/Messaging Architect

Job description:
The primary focus will be Messaging products which provide users with mission-critical text messaging, persistent (stored conversation history) chat rooms, and presence capabilities. These services leverage Microsoft .NET technology based on the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP).

The technical Lead/Messaging Architect will be responsible for the analysis, definition, design, construction, testing, installation and modification of properly engineered information systems, containing software as the major component, to meet agreed business needs as well as managing the developers assigned to the project.

Works on large complex projects that are enterprise wide and require the highest level of expertise and multiple technical disciplines.

Responsible for working with off-shore development, test and operations staff

Providing design recommendations per written specifications. Responsible for advising on and reviewing to complex design specifications..

Provides assistance in researching new and emerging technologies. Works with vendors to understand technology. Evaluating new tools, technologies and platforms to be included.

Provides technical leadership, coaching, and mentoring to application development teams.

Schedule and provide objectives for a small team of developers.

Minimum of 7 years (including development) experience, experience should include complex architecture and design responsibilities

Minimum of 2 years leading or managing a team.

Complex Programming and development, utilizing .NET languages C# and ASP.NET and other .NET technologies such as XML and Web Services, especially for Server Side / Back End Applications.

Must have experience with the full development life cycle including deployment and support of Production Quality application.

Database Design and Programming (plus DB tuning and optimizing, and schemas and queries) using Microsoft SQL Server 2000 or 2005.

Experience with Real Time Communications Application Server (Live Communications Server a plus)

Experience with SIP messaging a plus

Voice and Video over IP a plus

Ability to manage and schedule a single project and a small team of developers (2-5)

Experience with Microsoft Project a plus.

Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
