Techical Sales Engineer

Aspyra develops clinical information system software and provides hardware and software solutions to healthcare facilities worldwide. 

Main Purpose of Job

 

The Technical Sales Engineer is responsible for identifying and validating technology solutions for Aspyra?s Clinical Information System software products.  This individual provides assistance to the sales team in assessing technical requirements for the preparation of system proposals, communicates technical product information to Regional Business Managers, prospects and customers, and responds to their technical questions.

 Job Duties/Responsibilities

 

This position demands an individual that is comfortable communicating with prospects and customers, and Sales and Operations team members at all levels.  Identifying appropriate technology solutions that meet the Product Manager?s requirements is paramount.  Identified solutions will be industry standard, be manufactured by a company with a proven track record, be highly reliable, and easily supported.  This position reports to the Chief Operations Officer.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

 Stay abreast of new technology developments.Present new technology that could potentially be employed to the benefit of Aspyra software products to the attention of Product and Operations management.  Evaluate the feasibility of reselling and supporting new technology under consideration with Aspyra products. Validate the technical functionality of potential solutions that have been identified and approved for consideration.Analyze the performance of all system components and verify that expected performance meets Aspyra?s recommended standards.Develop standard configurations based upon technology standards and needs of the market, as outlined by Product management and sanctioned by Operations management.Prepare technical ?White Papers? to educate Sales and Operations staff when new technology is deployed.Prepare documentation for technology setup and configuration to be used by our technical staff and reseller partners.Provide technical support to the Operations and Development departments.Assist in the development of new QA documents for configuration management.Maintain QA configuration documents and QA definition documents in order to meet FDA requirements.Respond to Request For Proposal technical questions submitted by the sales administration team in a timely fashion. Knowledge/Education

 Bachelor?s degree in business or computer science, or equivalent work experience. MCSE or equivalent.A+ certification or equivalent.

 

Job Experience

 Minimum of 4 years hands-on technical support experience with Windows/Intel-based systems.Minimum of 1 year system configuration experience. Clinical Information System experience preferred.

TechnicalExcellent knowledge of mainstream hardware components including servers, storage technology, networking, and workstationsExcellent knowledge of Microsoft server-based productsThorough understanding of enterprise storage solution concepts and practicesThorough knowledge of Windows Server 2000/2003, Cluster Servers, Windows 2000 Pro, Windows XP, SQL Server.Working knowledge of UNIX / Linux, and Oracle.Ability to read and understand technical information & ideas.Able to present technical concepts in clear manner to prospects and customers.
