Job Description:
Develops clear and accurate written/visual capture of customers' technical requirements, technical process definitions and workflow. Analyzes and documents technical issues and obstacles and develops solutions. Has substantial industry knowledge. Receives general supervision and is competent to work at their highest technical level while working independently.

Under general supervision, a Database Technical Analyst (DTA) provides a wide range of relational database access (SQL) programming, including programs to retrieve data from relational databases, as well as programs to retrieve data from relational databases for reporting. A DTA is expected to possess subject matter expertise in at least one database environment; to understand, comply with, and enforce all data management standards, guidelines, and procedures; to work as a team resource on larger projects; and to possess excellent communication skills with a customer-service focus.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
• Code and maintain extensive and complex SQL scripts against databases in Oracle, SQL Server, Sybase, DB2 UDB and Informix
• Automate script execution under UNIX using UNIX shell scripting
• Automate script execution under Windows using VB script
• Participate in technical support for testing and implementing database related software components.
• Consult with DBA staff to understand the database operational requirements for monitoring compliance to database standards.
• Maintain documentation of database-related guidelines and procedures.
• Develops clear and accurate written/visual capture of customers' technical requirements, technical process definitions and workflow.

Job Requirements:
• Working experience in logical and relational database design
• Strong knowledge of data analysis, database design technologies, database concepts, and database access tools
• Strong SQL coding skills
• Strong UNIX shell scripting and VB scripting desirable
• Excellent communication skills, analytical ability, and decision-making and problem-analysis techniques
• Ability to work effectively with the customer, IT management and staff
• Four-year degree with 4-7 years experience
