Technical Product Manager - GTI (Band 3)

Job Responsibilities:


This position is within the Global Network Services, which is part of the Global Technology and Infrastructure organization within Merrill Lynch.  This position is responsible for managing the life cycle of various data network products (e.g., business to business connectivity) as well as major initiatives and day to day projects around these products.

The Technical Product Manager is responsible for identification of client requirements, strategic direction & roadmaps, vendor selection, contract management, inventory, provisioning, support, client communications, client satisfaction, financial management as well as on-going vendor management & adherence to service levels for business to business connectivity. 

This position requires active interaction with product engineering, network operations, line business management group, help desk project management office to ensure technologies and vendor selections fit in with company strategy and meet internal client requirements.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Gathering, assessing and prioritizing client requirements
- Developing business cases for new requirements and products
- Organizing and leading multi-departmental work teams to design and implement new services, programs, and enhancements
- Working with finance to design cost and pricing models, perform monthly P&L reviews, and resolve any product related financial issues
- Working with the operations team on new product introductions and changes, organize necessary training, work on developing day 2 support model and assist with vendor management
- Support major business initiatives by working with engineering, operations, finance and other teams on developing business cases, schedules, and operating models
- Work on resolving day-to-day product issues such as operational issues, equipment delivery, SLA verification, etc.

 Qualifications:


BACKGROUND AND SKILLS:

- Broad capabilities including product management, strategic planning, product development, technology and financial experience

- Experience supporting global financial marketplace

- Exposure and understanding of network operations

- Excellent team leadership and project management skills.

- Excellent communicator with solid organization and analytic skills.

- MBA preferred with background in engineering or science
