Technical Project Manager (Production Operations)
Edmunds .com, the leading authority for automotive information on-line, is seeking an outstanding candidate for Technical Project Manager for the Production Operations department.
The Technical Project Manager is a critical resource within the Edmunds * Production Operations department who is responsible for the initiation, management, and coordination of major projects related to applications, systems, networks and other components within the firm*s technical operations. The Technical Project Manager leads the internal effort to effectively plan and manage projects from the start to ensure that key business objectives are satisfied through the timely completion of these projects.
Responsibilities:
* Manage and coordinate resources from various departments within the firm to successfully complete critical projects and initiatives for the Production Operations department.
* Gather business requirements and identify critical measures of success to ensure that projects are completed in a manner which successfully accomplishes the business objectives.
* Develop detailed project plans, business requirements documents and any associated documentation related to projects.
* Communicate with project team members and business stakeholders to establish deadlines, assign responsibilities, and monitor progress of projects.
* Surface project issues and make proactive recommendations for solutions to the project team and management.
* Prepare reports for management regarding the status of projects.
Requirements:
* 5+ years of manager-level experience in an IT project management role.
* Bachelor*s degree; MBA preferred.
* Experienced in a lead role on large-scale technology/product development projects.
* Familiarity with multi-tier systems architectures, web service architectures, web hosting, data processing using Oracle, basic network and security knowledge.
* Excellent analytical skills and ability to handle extensive documentation on a timely basis.
* Attention to detail and superior follow-through.
* Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a variety of people: creative, technical, management, and marketing.
* Exceptional written and verbal communication; ability to communicate complex ideas/issues.
* Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Project and Visio, and other Microsoft Office business applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
* Automotive and Data experience, with industry background in consumer media and the business interests of OEMs, dealers, and mainstream media companies highly desired.
