Technical Services Manager

We have an excellent opportunity for an energetic, company-minded, results oriented individual to head our Information Systems Team in the position of Technical Services Manager.

 

Scope
The Technical Services Manager is accountable for all technical services activities including all hardware and software systems (excluding applications software development) for all platforms.  Responsible for meeting budget goals, systems performance and reliability service level agreements, and departmental objectives.  Provides support to the Technical Services staff.

AccountabilitiesMaintains all hardware and software systems for all platforms by evaluating factors to determine hardware and software configurations (including: data processing equipment capabilities, reporting format requirements, transaction volumes, response time requirements, cost constraints, availability requirements, security needs and access restrictions)Insures that overall network performance meets or exceeds company and department goals and objectives by evaluating current methods, making recommendations and by developing project plans (used for planning and tracking and reporting status)Determine existing systems limitations, capacity planning and capabilities for workload requirements by conferring with department ManagementPlans and oversees the development of the Technical Services team by performing all necessary personnel management functions (selection, training, performance evaluations, time/attendance, disciplinary actions, etc.), assigning tasks and/or projects, and planning for the futureDefine and direct the planning, configuration, design, installation, maintenance, purchasing and support of corporate IT infrastructureDefine, implement, support and maintain IT Disaster Recovery and Business continuity capabilities.Establish relationships with vendorsProvides current status/information to the appropriate department Management regarding open issues, projects, deadlines, and other things that affect or may affect overall operations, availability and performance of the systems (hardware and software)Insure that all systems operate within conformance specifications by monitoring all equipment and software functionsImproves the Technical Services Team?s productivity and efficiency by establishing work priorities, evaluating costs and time requirements, and by producing process improvementsMotivates, develops, leads, and manages the Technical Services Team to achieve their fullest potentialInsures all Technical Services Team members are performing as positive team members with all employees within the department and the company

Education & ExperienceBachelor?s Degree in Computer Science or related field -or- 6+ years relevant experience in lieu of Degree10 ? 25 years minimum Relevant Experience3 years minimum supervisory experience preferred
