Location: Chicago, IL

Salary: $60,000 - $80,000

Type: Perm

Responsibilities:

- Provide database support for the Corporate Microsoft SQL server environments, including configuring and tuning SQL Server instances, applying maintenance, and scheduling backups.

- Monitor production jobs and assists the application developers with application tuning.

- Implement production changes submitted by application developers.

- Assist the Lead DBA with defining and implementing SQL server security policy.

- Travel may be required

Qualifications:

- Advanced skills in SQL server configuration, optimization, and maintenance (i.e., backup scheduling, integrity checks, patch installs)

- Experience with replication, database design, RAID, Windows NT security, and DTS

- Excellent communication, analytical, problem solving, and interpersonal skills

- Has initiative and is self-disciplined

- A minimum of 5 years of technical experience as a SQL Server DBA

- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field preferred
