Technical Support Engineer

Title: Technical Support Engineer ? Ariba Customer Support

The Technical Support Engineer position will be providing level 3 technical support to our customers on the On Demand solutions of our Ariba Spend Management Suite of products. Specifically this position will include providing technical support for Ariba Supplier Network and our new On Demand line of procurement and sourcing solutions.

Responsibilities:

? Provide dependable and timely resolution to all product related technical issues, which include defects, integration problems, and unexpected behaviors.
? Interface with customer?s technical implementation and business teams and able to adapt communication to the appropriate skills of the customer.
? Work closely with Ariba Operations and Engineering to resolve business critical issues
? Reproduce technical issues to facilitate resolution
? Champion Customer driven feedback to functional areas in order to influence process/product improvements.
? Author technical documents on common issues and solutions.

Knowledge and Skills:

? Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related discipline required.
? Strong troubleshooting skills with web-based software applications required.
? Customer service skills (Communication, Customer Focus, Responsiveness, Case Management) required.
? Strong detail orientation and commitment to thorough documentation
? Experience in the following areas are also a plus:
o XML
o Network protocols including SSL and HTTPS
o Network security such as firewall and proxy server strategies
o EDI X12
o SQL and Reporting
o Java programming
