This role covers all pre- and post-sales activities. The Pre-sales elements of the role will require you to support the company's Sales Team on technical and product related matters. This includes the preparation of creative and attractive technical proposals as part of the bid process to customers. The role is of critical value in the sales process and you will ensure that the technical solutions proposed to customers are optimal, are aligned with our product roadmap, and meet specific customer requirements.


The support elements of the role will require you to provide technical support to the company's customers and your objective is to convey a positive image of the company and its products. Your ultimate objective is to maintain a high level of customer loyalty.
The role requires close liaison with external customers and with specialists in the company's internal Engineering, Sales and Product Marketing departments.


Primary Responsibilities:


Represent the company's Customer Support and provide technical support to DVB, IPTV, Mobile broadcast customers and the company's Partners.

Analyze and troubleshoot complex customer problems.

Perform installations and upgrades of the company's Conditional Access control systems at customer sites on lab test systems and live broadcast systems.

Take ownership of customers' requests for service, manage the resolution and report regularly on the status.

Perform consultancy work such as:


Assist the customer with planning of system upgrades and configuration changes.

Provide on site support.

Present the company's product training to customers for standard installations when the need arises.

Provide valuable input for improvements to existing products, related documentation and new system development

Work closely with the relevant Account Managers and your colleagues to achieve optimum customer loyalty.

Work closely with members of the regional sales team to develop sales opportunities with new customers, strategic partners and in new markets.

Support Sales by interfacing with existing and prospective customers to determine their technical requirements and to discuss and develop complex technical solutions.

Prepare and deliver detailed product demonstrations and technical presentations to prospect customers and partners for various market segments.

Support Sales activities on a technical level at exhibitions and conferences. This includes assisting with planning and the setup and presenting of demonstrations.

Respond timely and accurately to customer questions, RFIs and RFPs and develop sound relationships with key technical players in the account.

The writing of White Papers on complex solutions and the presentation of papers at Events/Conferences to support Sales.

Provide feedback from customers to the company's Marketing and Engineering on new product feature requirements.

Supports the Bid review process and act as a bid manager for technically complex sales opportunities.

Take ownership and act as the interface between customer and the company's functional departments to resolve technical complex sales issues.

Assists with business development efforts and strategic relationships.

Contributes to business case development as required in respective market segments.

Work according to the company's quality processes and guidelines as applicable.

Requirements:


The following work experience is required for this Support and Pre-Sales Engineer:


5-8 years work experience in a similar customer facing role - like the one mentioned above, in a professional and related field.

Must have a thorough working knowledge of IP provisioning, IP network architecture and design.

Experience with Windows and SQL databases.

Must be able to build strong trust relationship with customers' management and technical staff.

Must be able to develop and maintain an up-to-date and thorough knowledge of the company's products and high level knowledge of third party products to which their systems interface.

Must be able to identify various vertical market channels and assist the sales representative in qualifying these channels from a product perspective.

Good technical writing ability and good presentation skills.

University degree in electronic engineering, digital broadcasting, IT or telecommunications related field.
A formal Cisco or equivalent certification will be a definite advantage.

Knowledge of IPTV and Pay TV business will be an advantage.

Working and/or theoretical knowledge of one or more of the following will be a definite advantage: Conditional Access, OpenCable, DAB, Telecommunication protocols, Satellite Communications, Mobile Communications, DVB, MPEG, DRM and OMA.
