Technical Writer - Amazon Web Services

Would you like to be part of a team focused on producing high-quality technical publications for our Amazon Web Services offerings? Do you have the software development/deep technical background necessary to help establish Amazon as a key web services provider? As a Sr. Technical Writer in the Amazon Web Services (AWS), you will have the exciting opportunity work with a star technical team to produce product documentation in a cross-functional, distributed environment. Your broad responsibilities will include owning the documentation for the AWS Platform Services. AWS Platform is the key enabler for all external facing web-services launched by Amazon.com. Amazon.com is deeply committed to be a leader in the web-services market place and one of the key measures of success is to have a strong and vibrant developer community consuming the AWS offering successfully. To enable this, the tech-writer team plays a vital role to make sure that the AWS offerings are clearly spelt out through the right types of documentation, code-samples and guides/tools. The ideal candidate will posses both a technical background that enables them to easily interact with software developers and a demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality technical publications for AWS customers.

Key Responsibilities:

* Design, develop & deliver on documentation deliverables for the AWS Platform

* Help assess market feedback on adoption of our services

* Develop content re-use and single-sourcing strategies.

* Help evaluate and select tools and technologies for the technical publications team.

Qualifications:

* 3+ years in a writing or lead writing role.

* Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communications skills.

* Proven experience designing documentation for software APIs.

* Passion to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.

* Experience with XML-based publishing systems highly desired.

* Some experience with web services and related technologies a plus.
