We are looking for an experienced technical writer who can take the lead in documenting System Recovery Plans from an architecture, infrastructure, and application perspective. This involves gathering and documenting requirements from global teams to support business continuity solutions that can be executed by production support personnel. The ideal candidate will have familiarity with both hardware and software systems, will be skillful at capturing requirements, and will take complete responsibility for planning and writing documentation. This will also include documentation of System Recovery Test Plans to facilitate test execution. This documentation is to be completed in a two month timeframe in preparation for initial test execution and will be expanded upon after test execution.

Work with management to identify and prioritize needed documents.
Confirm documentation requirements (e.g. diagrams, step-by-step instructions) and develop documentation standards through coordination with Production Support and Global Business Continuity teams.

Obtain information by conducting workshops and interviewing development, infrastructure, and architecture teams that span geographic locations and time zones.
Prepare documentation by converting technical descriptions into user-understandable language.

Write System Recovery Plans that capture system overview and system recovery steps, including infrastructure and applications requirements, for approximately ten applications in a two month timeframe.

Write System Recovery Test Plans that allow for execution of tests, for approximately ten applications in a 3 month timeframe (parallel with System Recovery Plans).

Drive the process of having the documents reviewed and approved.

Be the designated contact for suggestions and updates to these documents.

Additional Information:
Minimum Job Requirements:
BA, BS, or equivalent (preferably in English/Technical Writing, or Computer Science)
Demonstrated ability to quickly understand technology by minimum 4 years successfully documenting application and infrastructure solutions (documentation of System Recovery solutions a plus)
Demonstrated excellence in writing clearly and concisely
Exceptional communication skills
Skilled in blending information from multiple technical sources into documents for technical end users
Skilled in organizing and facilitating workshops, design sessions and interviews
Experience working in a fast-paced environment with different teams that span geographic locations and time zones
Ability to be an effective team member
Experience and/or technical knowledge desirable in the following: Mainframes, Unix(Solaris), and Database Design
Mastery of MS Office suite and Visio
