Test Engineer Team Lead

 

The Test Engineer Team Lead is responsible for leading a QA team of 3 Test Engineers in Ft Wayne, Indiana as part of our large scale Progress development effort.  This team will work in conjunction with several other teams that are located in the Melville, NY office. The Test Engineer Team Lead will be knowledgeable of software quality assurance, and will have extensive experience, judgment and leadership in the areas of test planning, test execution and accomplishing various QA related goals. The Test Engineer Team Lead will lead and direct the work of other Test Engineers, create Test Plans, test cases, execute test scenarios and create and review software defects.  The Test Engineer Team Lead will work closely with Project Management, Development Leads and Business Analysts to review requirements, technical design documents, test documents and project schedules.

 

Required Qualifications:

 

?  7+ years experience performing software QA in a Windows environment.

?  B.A./B.S. or equivalent computer industry experience.

?  Experience leading a team of 3 testers.

?  Professionalism, hands-on leader, strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a demonstrated ability to work in a team environment are essential.

?  Manages stress with a calm demeanor.

?  Experience testing applications in client/server environments.

?  Is expected to articulate QA best practices and make recommendations.

?  Can lead and perform the following types of testing: functional, regression, integration, and system testing.

?  Experience with writing test plans and test cases.

?  Experience with maintaining a QA test environment.

?  Very strong development, testing and process skills.

?  Mortgage industry experience/knowledge.

? Ability to provided time estimates to Project Management for QA efforts on projects.

?  Ability to compare and explain expected vs. actual results and differences.

?  Ability to work with multiple development teams and users within the company.

?  Mentors/Coaches team members to ensure testing effectiveness and overall team success.

 

 

Pluses:

 

?  Experience with automation tools (Quality Center and QuickTest Pro).

?  Experience with Progress 4GL programming.

?  Experience with VBScript programming for automation.
