Tools Analyst

As the Tools Analyst, you will be responsible for working with the client to define and manage a program of work to implement improvements to IS&S supporting tools. You will work with user groups to understand issues and needs related to IS&S tools in the context of Standardized Work Processes. Define project scope and provide input to ITSRs related to IS&S tool improvements. Build scheduled tool enhancements into the overall Standardized Work Release Plan. Work with IS&S Tools supplier during the acquisition, construction, and testing of new or enhanced tools. Coordinate development of tool-related standards and guidance with the development of the corresponding Standardized Work processes. Participate in tool deployment and subsequent user forum activities for IS&S tools. Activities include: Work with projects in the Delivery Centers to understand the real-world IS&S Tool issues. Conduct analysis into tool problems, working closely with Standardized Work staff. Formulate recommendations for modifications to IS&S tools. Contribute to the release schedule for Standardized Work processes and related tool standards. Work with client to plan IS&S Tools projects, and to manage the dependencies between Standardized Work and Tools projects on an ongoing basis. Stay abreast of industry standards, specifically CMMi and ITIL, and actively work to maintain alignment of IS&S Tools with those standards. Act as a knowledge resource for IS&S tools in support of Standardized Work & SDP.

Practical experience with selected IT support tools is required to support clients acquisition lifecycle, e.g. in the project management, configuration management, or requirements management areas. Experience is needed working with sponsors to formally define and charter projects including objectives, deliverables, scope, schedule, and budget. You must possess a passion for tools and their proper organizational implementation. Knowledge of the technical software development process and the ability to communicate and interact with project teams and practitioners are required. Leadership ability will be needed to lead and influence team members who are not direct reports. CMMi knowledge and understanding required. Clarity tool experience preferred.
