Design Lead

 We currently have a Cincinnati based job opening for a transportation systems design lead on the enterprise transportation systems team.  This individual will be part of the team that supports and installs enterprise transportation systems into Kroger transportation operations. Essential Job Functions: The primary responsibility for this position is to lead all design related activities necessary for a successful implementation of the new Enterprise Transportation Management System (TRM).  In order to be successful, this person will be required to work with representatives of the Kroger Regional Freight Management Centers, Kroger Regional Planning Centers, and Corporate Transportation analyzing business needs and coordinating with application teams in development of all necessary design documentation required to interface TRM to their application.  In addition, this person's other responsibilities will include: ? Lead all design related activities, including requirements gathering, design documentation, code development with the Manhattan Assoc. vendor, and code implementation, for all TRM application changes.  ? Incorporation of TRM established cutting edge high availability concepts into each interface design that result in the highest levels of performance, scalability, and availability.? Coordinate with 20+ application teams in implementation and support of each interface.? Serve as the primary liaison for the SeeBeyond middleware services group for all interface development and support.? Assist in development and presentation of management conference room pilot materials.? Assist in planning and execution of all user/system testing.? Assist in all conversion planning and execution including post-conversion support. ? Serve as a member of the team to implement TRM into all Kroger DC?s, manufacturing plants, and stores.  ? Assist in development of a standard transportation systems methodology.? Participate in a rotating on-call application support pager for Kroger users. REQUIREMENTS:? Demonstrated application design leadership skills.? Demonstrated quality testing approaches and processes.? Willingness to learn new technologies and techniques.? Superior oral and written communication skills; experience with senior mgmt. updates is a plus.? Proven analytical / problem solving skills and quality-minded attention to work and process.? Able to work independently and highly responsive to changing needs in a dynamic project.? Demonstrated experience working in an application support role involving user interaction.? Bachelor of Science degree in a systems related field or relevant job experience. TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:? Team members must be on-site during conversions providing on-site support as needed.? May be required to visit operational sites to work with users on process definition, testing, etc.  30% - 50% travel.
