Skills Required:

This position requires excellent decision making, verbal and written communication skills as well as a minimum of six (6) years experience in a similar position, with increased responsibility and hands-on with multi-processor servers.Strong interpersonal and communication skill UNIX / Linux operating systems Solaris operating systems EMC Symmetrix, Host Configuration, SAN Configuration, Command Line Database: Oracle (SQL, Oracle Process, Startup/Shutdown )PERL, Bash or other scripting languages DNS (Bind preferred) NFS/NIS SSH (OpenSSH preferred) Various Open-source software CVS or Subversion GCC Compiler (C Code) Networking/TCP-IP Programming experience (i.e.: PERL, C, shell) Familiarity with Internet operations  Strong EMC SAN skillsComfortable with most aspects of UNIX systems administration; for example, configuration of mail systems, system installation and configuration, printing systems

 

Preferred:

Scripting or development experience with shell (sh) and C shell (csh) highly desirable.

 

Responsibilities include:Installation of Enterprise Class Servers and software, deployment of new business software versions / OS patches as requested and scheduled Systems monitoring, backup, build procedures and scalability planning Daily monitoring and execution of production schedules and critical high volume client data / solution deliveries. 24/7/365 Incident monitoring problem solving and resolution, provide for fault resolution and escalation Responsible for the management of Unix/Linux and Sun Solaris servers with EMC storage management. Prioritize tasks and work independently yet interact well within a project-oriented team environment at times with aggressive deadlines Assist in the development and coordination schedules for production processing, operations maintenance. Follow and adhere to change management polices and procedures Maintaining regular documentation and operations procedure
