Junior/Senior UNIX System Administrator

?

Position requires the candidate to provide software support to a staff of 25 developers.? As a member of the Release Management team the candidate will:

?

-Provide Unix system administration for a farm of ~100 small to medium size Solaris and AIX servers.

-Install and build Solaris and AIX servers (LPARS).

-Ensure that all systems are backed up according to schedule.

-Light Windows server system administration.

-Maintained of COB servers.

-Work on long and short term projects with the release management team.

-Take ownership of technical issues and work them until resolution.

-Troubleshoot system and application issue until they are resolved.

-Lead production installs that usually begin on Friday and/or Saturday nights run for 4 or 6 hours.

-Provide night and weekend support to an application development team of 30 members.

-Act as backup to other System Administrators in the release management team.

-Act as a backup to the ClearCase and Database Administration teams.



Requirements

?

-Expert level UNIX (Solaris/AIX) System Administration skills.

-Strong knowledge of the UNIX shell.

-A minimum of 5 years experience in a mixed Solaris/AIX environment working on single and multi CPU servers.

-Ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced environment.

-Candidate must be motivated and self-directed.

-Superior writing skills.

-Excellent interpersonal skills, must be a team player.

-Ability to work on multiple concurrent assignments.

-BS Computer Science degree or equivalent.

-Knowledge of the PERL scripting language is a plus.

-Knowledge of either basic Informix/Oracle database administration is a plus.

-Basic knowledge of the ClearCase software control product is a plus.

-Web development skills (HTML) a plus.
