Unigraphics Product Drafter / Designer

One of A.C.Coy Company?s strategic clients located in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area currently looking to fill the position of Product Drafter/Designer


DESCRIPTION :
The candidate will be expected to:
Generate accurate, detailed 3D math models and 2D drawings of product geometry using UG-NX3 software.
Generate visual sketches of product design concepts Generate, review, and/or maintain documents to define product design attributes, such as drawings, tolerance sheets, process sheets, and bills-of-material Maintain product data and project documentation according to established procedures Communicate progress to Project Team members

EDUCATION / TRAINING REQUIRED: The candidate should possess an Associates Degree or equivalent experience in the area of structural or mechanical design or related fields.

EXPERIENCE LEVEL REQUIRED: Preferably, the candidate has 5 years experience in the area of computer aided product design and drafting.
The candidate should have strong skills with Unigraphics NX3 design software with an emphasis on drafting, included GD&T. Preferably, the candidate will possess a working knowledge of materials: aluminum alloys, characteristics, product forms; other metals; plastics. Also, it is desired that the candidate have experience with design for manufacturability and the application of guidelines for assemblies and/or components of aluminum castings/forgings, fabricated extrusions, and stampings and other materials. A working knowledge of Automotive, Commercial Transportation, and/or Aerospace industry terminology, standards and practices is also desirable.

SPECIAL SKILLS OR OTHER QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: The candidate should be able to describe product concepts and detailed designs in the form of 2D or 3D visual representations (sketches, drawings, and math models), and clear, concise oral and written explanations. Good organizational skills are very much desirable as well as very good oral and written communication skills. The candidate should possess strong human relations and communication skills with co-workers, customers and supplier contacts. Good working skills with Microsoft Office products are highly desirable.
