Major Investment firm in Houston TX is seeking a Unix Admin. Responsible for supporting Unix systems for Investment Bank this position is located in Houston, Texas.

Help The Company be a leader in the Financial Services and Insurance industry by acting as the UNIX Systems Administrator who maximizes workstation performance; determines operational requirements; identifies pc systems capabilities, limitations and configurations; establishes, maintains, and improves lan environment; maintains lan environment; trains clients.
Qualifications
? Strong UNIX system administration, including installation and configuration of system software, system maintenance, facility management, tracking hardware configurations, and user support.
? Excellent multi-tasking skills. Prioritizes and performs a variety of concurrent tasks with minimal direction.
? ? 5+ years supporting Sun servers (Ultra Enterprise, Sun Fire) running UNIX (Solaris 8+) in a large-scale (100+ servers- this is a MUST) environment, Linux and Solaris 10 Experience a plus. ? Strong knowledge of Open SSH must possess excellent communication skills, written and verbal. Ability to create, modify Jumpstart servers for multiple Sun architectures and create FLAR images. ? Must be able to create installation packages, have Strong scripting skills in Perl, awk, sed, Korn Shell. Understanding of SMTP, NIS, DNS, QIP, NFS, KEON. LDAP. ? Knowledgeable in use of Veritas tools (NetBackup, File System, Volume Manager, Cluster Server), including setup, maintenance and troubleshooting. ? Must have a good working knowledge or experience in Cisco switches and Routers. Familiarity with monitoring tools, specifically Tivoli, desirable. ? Working knowledge of database support, specifically Oracle and Sybase. ? Working knowledge of SAN and NAS.
? Available to work after hours and weekends, as required.
? LAN knowledge, including Ethernet, hubs, switches, TCP/IP, and network configuration.
? Experience in hardware provisioning, installation, configuration, and troubleshooting. Knowledge of LAN/WAN networking, setting up servers, and workstations.
? Experience with network maintenance including security services, load monitoring, system resiliency, back-up, and restore.
? Applies performance tuning and capacity management concepts.
? Applies knowledge of networking standards, protocols, security, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
? Experience with design and implementation of proxy servers such as CSM, Microsoft, Netscape, and WinProxy 3.0.
