User Centered Design Specialist

The Information Systems division of Edward Jones currently has an opening for a User Centered Design Specialist.

Responsibilities:
-Work with project teams to deliver global applications and hardware that allow end-users to do their job effectively and efficiently.
-Manage and lead user-centered design tasks and deliverables throughout the entire project process i.e. gathering end-user requirements, documenting user workflows, incorporating user needs and information within a prototype design, conducting usability testing, and analyzing implementation feedback.
-Plan, execute and manage end-user advocate work on projects of various complexity; manage 6-8 projects concurrently.
-Create end-user current and proposed workflow and information diagrams.
-Collaborate with interface designers to prototype global web designs based on end-user workflow and information needs.
-Lead the global usability testing process to ensure product is usable.
-Conduct implementation feedback analysis to assess the effectiveness of a product rollout by end-users.

Requirements:
-Bachelor's Degree in Interaction Design, Human Factors, Instructional Design, Computer Science or related degree preferred or equivalent experience in Information Systems.
-Three or more years experience in User-Centered Design, Project Leadership, Usability and/or Instructional Design.
-Proficient in various usability and analysis techniques including contextual inquiry, focus groups, interviews, surveys, affinity mapping, card sorting, heuristic reviews, prototyping, usability evaluations, etc.
-Applied knowledge of system development lifecycle, user-centered design and project management methodologies.
-Knowledge of mainframe, client and web-based system development technologies.
-Working knowledge of interface design and human factors principles and technologies.
-Understanding of quality assurance and change management processes.
-Strong facilitation, persuasive and consensus-building verbal skills required.
-Experience in financial services industry is preferred.
-Excellent listening and interviewing skills.
-Excellent communication, relationship management and interpersonal skills.
-Excellent organizational and time management skills.
-Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
-Ability to work in a team environment and/or as an individual contributor, as required.
